Janet Baumgardner Obituary

North Augusta, SC....... Janet L. Baumgardner, 72, entered into Heaven on March 6, 2026. Born in Findlay, Ohio to Raymond and Doris Holden, Janet was a proud graduate of Findlay High School, Class of 1972. Years later, she connected with an old high school friend at a cookout and fell in love. Janet and Jeff had been married for 40 years. Later, they moved to North Augusta, South Carolina and have made that their home for the past 40 years.

Janet attended Aiken Technical College, where she earned her credentials as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). She took those skills and dedicated much of her life to caring for others. In 2002, she and her husband, Jeff Baumgardner, founded Comfort Keepers. Through her work, Janet passionately served those who needed extra assistance, making a lasting impact on countless families and individuals in her community. She was also an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 71.

Janet had an entrepreneurial spirit and a heart for adventure. She was always searching for the next opportunity, whether it was starting a new business, investing in rental properties, or even moving to a third-world country to operate a resort. Her love for adventure also carried into her travels. Janet and Jeff enjoyed exploring the world together, planning elaborate vacations filled with cultural experiences. Often, she would return home from one trip only to begin planning the next.

Above all else, Janet cherished her family. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren, whom she adored and happily spoiled. Whether playing games, swimming, or taking them on special trips, she created memories that will last a lifetime.

The most defining part of Janet's life was her deep love for Jesus Christ. She faithfully shared God's Word with others and loved to worship openly and freely. Even in the final days of her life, she continued to praise God in all circumstances, living out the example of a good and faithful servant.

Janet is survived by her loving husband, Jeff Baumgardner; her children, Joseph Walton and Jessica Boyd (Scotty); and her cherished grandchildren, Kayla, Kiana, Elliott, and Findlay. She is also survived by her siblings, Ron Holden (Vicki), Sharon Musser (Rick), Joetta Huston (Charlie), Debbie Mitchell (Chris), and Jill Holden.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond Holden and Doris Holden; her stepmother, Bonnie Holden; her sister, Diana Sherer; and her son, Josh Walton.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 12, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at J. M. Ford Funeral Directors. A funeral service will be held Friday, March 13, at 10:00 AM in the J. M. Ford Funeral Directors Chapel, with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made in Janet's honor to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer Society.

Yesterday

We are so saddened to hear of Janet's death. She was a wonderful friend and confidant.
When we were together, it was pure joy. Whenever we saw each other it was as if time never passed. We picked up right where we left off. Soul sisters
My fondest memories are at the house with Doris. Janet loved her mom and her siblings. The house was full of people and good times. I just remember laughter. So much laughter. A happy and safe place to be.
My last time with Janet was at a Joyce Meyer Conference in St. Louis. We praised God freely and sang God's praises together.
At the conference Janet met my daughter, Kara, and prayed with her for a job.
Kara got a job the following week and is still with the company today.
Janet was a mighty prayer warrior and we shared with each other our prayer concerns and prayed fervently for everyone.
I look forward to seeing you again my dear friend. Rest well.
I love you. Pam Zimmerly Kimmel
