Perry Patrick Obituary

Perry Gene Patrick, Sr. Hollywood, SC - Perry Gene Patrick, Sr., 88, of Hollywood, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 30, 2022, at his residence and was welcomed into the Pearly Gates as a "good and faithful servant". His loss will be long felt, and he will be greatly missed. Perry was born in Charleston, SC on June 4, 1934, to William P. and Agnes Scharloock Patrick. After graduating from Bishop England High School in 1953, he met his beloved wife of 65 years, Nettie Lemacks Patrick. She will continue to hold him in her heart until she can hold him again in Heaven. Perry proudly served his Country for twelve years in the South Carolina Army National Guard, Company B, 118th Infantry, including the Washington Light Infantry as a Color Guard for fifteen years. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal Award in 2016 and received many military accomplishments while serving. He walked with the world on his shoulders, but he made it look like a pair of wings. He worked at Southeastern Supply as a ship chandler for 25 years and then went on to open a successful business as the co-owner of Permik Industrial Supplies. His work ethic was unparalleled and unmatched. He retired in 2004 after 26 years of dedicated service. Perry was a true servant of our Lord, Jesus Christ and accepted Him as his personal Savior. He has been a member of Charleston First Assembly since 1980 and has served on many church ministries; volunteering where needed. He was selfless in his commitments and always available when called upon, serving others with love, loyalty, and laughter. He had a unique sense of humor, always leaving you with a smile. He always saw the best in people and circumstances. He asked for so little and gave so much. Perry was predeceased by his parents; his son, James Ricky Patrick; and his three brothers, Charles Patrick, William Patrick, Jr., and Gerald Patrick. He is survived by his children, Perry Gene Patrick, Jr. (Jinks) and Bonnie Patrick Banzon (Victor). He has six grandchildren, Rachel Patrick, Ricky Patrick (Ashley), Danielle Banzon Zachmann (Eddie), Megan Patrick, Kimberlee Patrick, and Ashley Patrick Jur (Austin). He has two great-grandchildren, Tanner Patrick and Brynn Joelle Zachmann. He was also survived by his three brothers-in-law, LaVern Lemacks, Jimmy McManus, and Eddie Lemacks (Debbie) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The love he had for his family was beyond measure and he considered his grands as precious jewels. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Charleston First Assembly, 2957 Savannah Highway, Charleston SC 29414. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at Charleston First Assembly. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Charleston First Assembly of God's Music Ministry at 2957 Savannah Highway, Charleston SC 29414 or Coastal Harvest Church at Post Office Box 12778, Charleston SC 29422.
