Jacqueline Farrell Scrughan
Charleston - Jacqueline (Jackie) Farrell Scrughan went to be with the Lord on December 19, 2025, in Charleston, South Carolina, at the age of 93.
Born on July 10, 1932, in Charleston to John Joseph Farrell and Lena Mabel Thornal Farrell, Jackie maintained a lifelong bond with her hometown. She graduated from Bishop England High School in the Class of 1950 and later served in civil service as a comptroll secretary at Charleston Air Force Base. After retiring from civil service, she dedicated 35 years to real estate with Century 21 and Exit Realty Charleston Group, helping many achieve the dream of homeownership.
Jackie was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, Nana, and friend who lived her life fully aware of the presence of God. Her prayers and encouragement shared through the years changed the lives of those she came across. To know her was to know love in its true form.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first love, Henry Victor Scrughan, Sr.; her children Henry (Victor) Scrughan Jr., Victoria Scrughan Nutter, and John (Jackie Boy) Scrughan; son-in-law, Jack Richard Watts; brother-in-law Umberto (Bob) Giordano; and niece Roxeanne Giordano.
She is survived by her loving daughter Michelle (Shellie) Scrughan Watts; grandchildren Michelle Scrughan Gray (Roy), Jerrica Watts Haakinson (Travis), John Joseph Scrughan (Wendi), Christina Nutter, Jackie Nutter Murphy (Shane), Cimberly Scrughan Gibson (Kinsey), and Joshua Richard Watts (Miriam); 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister Rosemary Farrell Giordano; nieces Tamara (Tammy) Giordano Williams, Rosemary (Rose) Giordano Thompson, Carmela Giordano Jackson, Elena (Ellie) Giordano, and Jacqueline (Jackie) Giordano Slocum; as well as many great-nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on January 27, 2026, at 11:30 a.m., followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
