I lost touch when my letters were returned. I had no idea my true friend had passes until today when I , once again, searched for him.
He was one of the nicest, funnest friend I knew.
I do not know how he passes but yesterday I found several photos of us in Myrtle beach and on bike runs...
Watching the news of this hurricane caused me to try to reach out, just to see that he has been gone for many years now.
I'm sad.
I'll miss the friend I knew in him..

Jaime, My Brother! I miss you. Please forgive me for not staying in touch. The last time I saw you was when you were building your new house in that field. We worked together and had fun together too. I knew you at McElveen in Summerville during the 1996-2000 time frame. I hope to see you in eternity my brother.

To Jaime's family, He was a one of a kind, great guy! Please just know that he will be greatly missed! I learned a lot from him over the years at the auctions. Mainly Statesville, Darlington, & sometimes Greensboro. I live near Raleigh and frequented the same auctions that Jaime did. A group of us for many years, after a long day buying cars, would go out to eat dinner together, as we all stayed in the same hotel. A lot of times, it was just Jaime & I. He always talked about his family, and his farm. I saw him about a month ago in Statesville, and he invited me down to Charleston. I'm really going to miss him, he was an awesome guy! I am truly sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you!

Sorry this is so late but Jaime has been buying cars for us for years up here in MN. I never was able to actually meet him but he came with high recommendations and lived up to them. 100% trustworthy, hard working and just a great guy to talk to every week. He will be missed by all of us up north and, from talking to the auction, all of them at Statesville, too. As he always said "You don't never know". God Bless to all family and friends.

Many heartfelt thanks to everyone who came and told us wonderful stories about Jaime. I did not realize that he was as good and as kind and helpful to everyone as he was to us.
It was so wonderful to meet all Jaime's friends from the farming life in St George. Every time we see a pick-up with a Farmer plate we'll remember and be happy for him having become what he wanted to be, a Farmer, and having so much help from his fellow farmers.
We appreciate everyone who came on a bike. The sound you brought was the sound of Jaime pulling up in my Mama's driveway. Every time we hear that sound we'll think of Jaime and remember all his kindness and his wonderful friends. Every Memorial Day weekend when our neighborhood is filled with the sound of bikes it will make us happy to think of Jaime.
Thank you.

I met Jamie in construction and got to know him at the shipyard. We had a lot of same interests, boats, bikes and cars. We were good friends and when the shipyard closed I lost contact. Recently divorced, made contact with Jaime again. He was a friend and made me feel better about life when I needed it most because he had a way with words that made you feel better. I will miss Jaime, thank you for being my friend when I needed it the most.

It was the late 80's. I'd rode my blue bicycle to the ATM in Sangaree at the same time as this guy rode up on a blue Harley. He was running a comb through his thick black hair and said to me, " you first," I said thank you, then I asked, do you have a pen I could borrow ? He handed me his blue pen. I did my transaction and then I said, might you have any gray poupon ?

We laughed and have been friends ever since.

That can never happen again, there was only one Jaime. Like all of you I feel the loss, but I know he is riding high and free in the sky, helping someone else and being a great friend.
My prayers to the family and may he rest in peace, I'm so saddened by the news

This is really sad news. Jaime and I go way back to James A Merritt where I first met him back in 1975. We both left there and worked together at a series of places including CNSYD. We had this thing to warn each other if the boss was coming we would shout "hootie hoo hootie hoo" borrowed from Gomer Pyle. May the good Lord comfort you all Adam & Susan. Hootie Hoo my dear friend Scott Daniel San Antonio TX

I met Jaime, 14 years ago, at Statesville Auto Auction. Jaime was an amazing person. He was caring, professional, generous, sometimes stubborn, but always respectful. All he cared about was getting a fair deal. He treated each dealer with respect and he expected the same in return. Every Monday afternoon he would come in to see how my week was and tell me about his farm and show me pictures. Every Tuesday before he left he would check in to tell me bye and that he would see me next week "Lord willing and the creek don't rise." He always said yes/no ma'am, even after I moved, he would check in with me to see how I was doing. I am blessed to have known Jaime Hancock. He was a wonderful man. I just can not believe that he is gone. I am very sorry for you loss. Jaime will truly be missed!!! God Bless and RIP Jaime <3

Jaime was the best big brother ever. I could call and describe what my car was doing. He'd tell me what was wrong with it and a good estimate of the dealer cost to fix it. If it was something simple he'd tell me how to fix it over the phone.
My brother Jaime loved animals. He has 4-5 dogs that he found, or that found him. Animals know who likes them. If you are interested in adopting one of Jaime's dogs, please let us know.
Thank you for your kindness and friendship to my brother. God Bless you.
