Tony was a great colleague and person, and the world is richer for it.

Charlie and I want to express our sincere condolences on Tony's death. Wonderful memories of my time at CofC have been flooding my head the last few days and Tony played such a huge part in those times. From the days teaching beginning swimming (and giving some of you lessons) in the old YMCA pool, to building the new pool, coaching the women's swim team and continuing to run the pool and teach, Tony was there encouraging me with his amazing smile.
Please know that your family are in our prayers at this extraordinarily difficult time.

What a fantastic, genuine and dedicated person. Always so positive and passionate about the College. There never has been, nor will there ever be, a better ambassador for the College. It was impossible not to smile whenever you thought of Tony. I am smiling thinking of him now. He lived a wonderful life and made everyone around him feel better. God bless you Tony. Thoughts and prayers are with his family and countless friends.

I was fortunate to have this C of C legend as my first boss at The College. But he always carried himself as a colleague. Much will be written about him, but it will never be enough. He was a giant in all respects.

Many wonderful memories growing up on Pinckney St. Tony was my older brother, Joe's, best friend at BE...I was the younger, tag along. Tony added many things to my life...taught me all the sports..trained me to be an Altar Boy at old St. Joseph,s and how to be a Catholic gentleman. Added to that, made me a lifelong Notre Dame fan. A wonderful man....he will always be in my prayers.

Something that you don't hear much about these days are positive role models. Our current society appears to be sadly in need of some. We lost the ultimate role model when Anthony Meyer passed away. He was an inspiration to anyone he came in contact with and was a educator, mentor and friend to several decades of young students. He was our next door family neighbor for over fifty years in West Ashley. He was a distinguished gentleman, scholar and close friend. You could always learn something new from Tony and he always made you smile. We both shared a love of sports and talked about it often. My heart has been heavy since I got the news on Sunday. He had a special joy about life that was contagious. Heaven just found another member of their Hall of Fame. My deepest sympathies, prayers and love go out to his family.

Whenever I become aware that another Marine has answered his last muster, I am reminded by words in our Marines Hymn that tells us, the streets of Heaven are guarded by United States Marines. Stack arms and rest your pack, Marine, and then take your post. You still have important work to do. Semper Fi, and carry on.

Great man. He entered my shop(The Flower Cottage) so often, I asked him if he wanted to work here when he retired....He was my favorite customer. He would fill out his own order forms (before computers) and assist other customers that were waiting. I hold him close to my heart with my Dad (Buddy Sirisky) and others of his generation who have all gone. We have an army of wonderful men watching over us. Tony is gone but not forgotten. Love you!
