Michael Gerry Obituary

Michael John Gerry, 70, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 29, 2026. Born on August 17, 1955 in Jamaica, NY, Mike was known for his magnetic sense of humor, deep friendships, and an unwavering love and devotion to his family and friends. He never met a stranger.

He is survived by his wife, Sheri; his sisters Karen, Dawn, and Melissa; his daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Bill, his daughters Christen and Allison, and son Dylan; stepchildren Brittany, Connie, and Paul; three grandchildren, and great-grandson. Family was the core of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth Gerry Sr. and Janet, and his brother Kenneth Gerry, Jr.

He graduated from Arundel High School in Maryland and from New York University. He had a passionate career in audio and video systems beginning at German Hi-Fi, time at Professional Products, and 33 years with Washington Professional Systems where he built lifelong friendships throughout industry. He was a voracious guitar player in several local bands in the Baltimore area. He retired in 2023 and moved to Summerville, SC where he continued his love of playing guitar, composing music and songwriting in his home studio. He enjoyed birdwatching, gardening, and reading. Mike was an avid Baltimore Ravens fan and NASCAR enthusiast. Mike and his wife enjoyed time together attending music and food truck festivals, spoiling their two dogs, and road trips where they would get lost along the way.

Michael had great faith in God and walked daily with the Lord.

His Celebration of Life will be held in Maryland in the near future.

In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome donations to The Storehouse Food Pantry/New Life Christian Center located in Norfolk, VA where his brother and sister-in-law, Nancy, were founding members.
