Margaret Henderson Obituary

Margaret B. Henderson, 92, widow of James Wilton Henderson, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. Born in Simpsonville, she was a daughter of the late James Albert Holcombe and Addie Jane Godfrey Holcombe.

Margaret was an example of a true Christian. She was kind hearted, loved her family deeply and loved caring for others. She was always willing to provide for the needs of others, whether it was food, bus fare or anything in between. Margaret had a passion for children and loved to volunteer at Mauldin Elementary School. All the kids loved her and she would often help them with snacks and school supplies. Although she was known as Mema to her grandchildren, everyone else knew her as Mauldin's Mema. Children would often call out "Mema" when they saw her around town.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Polly Manley; five grandchildren, Roger Manely, Michelle Wilt, Gina Smith, Natasha Bryant, Jamie Henderson, and Jessica Ebersole; and ten great grandchildren, Emma Wilt, Bella Irish, Grace Lane, Tanner Lane, Ava Babinski, Cash Lane, Ryleigh Ebersole, Lexie Manley, Luke Ebersole, and Noah Ebersole. She was preceded in death by her son, Micheal Lee Henderson; and thirteen brothers and sisters.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026 at Holly Ridge Baptist Church from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm. A celebration of life will follow beginning at 2:00 pm. Margaret will be laid to rest following the service at Cannon Memorial Park.
