I just learned of Bill's death earlier today. I am so sad to hear this. We were trombone majors at Northwestern together. He was so gentle and kind, and I am so very sorry that he is gone. Fred

I'm so sad to hear that Bill has passed. However, I am happy to have known him. He was one of my first trombone teachers and helped me immeasurably. He was a very kind and caring person. I regret that I didn't have the chance to reconnect with him. I pray that he is at peace and his family and friends can find comfort in the fact that he is home with the Lord.

Sending condolences and sympathy to Bill's mom Ruth, and his siblings/family. Bill was a kind-hearted soul who helped me feel welcome in Charleston when I moved here to play with the CSO. We were friends and colleagues for many long years. His presence will be missed. Praying for peace for his family; may you be comforted in the knowledge of his faith in God.

So many wonderful memories playing in the Charleston Symphony brass section with Bill. He loved what he did so much, and left a wonderful legacy of outstanding performances there. I'm proud to have been able to have played with him.

My deepest condolences to Bill's family and all those who knew him otherwise. His shining light has gone from this earth but lives on for all who were touched by his "genuineness" as a human being.
