I have known Tom since Junior High in St. Albans, VT. We reconnected in 1960 at a high school graduation in St. Albans and have been in constant touch since then. Tom was a wonderful, witty, knowledgeable and caring man. His pride in his daughters and grandchildren was something to behold. Getting together in Charleston twice a year since 1961 has been a highlight in my life with lots of fond memories and interesting conversations, to say nothing about the wonderful dining excursions, My thoughts and prayers are with his daughters and many grandchildren who he dearly loved.

Mr. McCauley's passion and knowledge of history happened to be infectious to all of us in his classes. We took notes furiously for 45 minutes, as he rarely referred to his notes during his lectures. Historical anecdotes that he told, made history come alive for us. I'm so glad to have been in his classes.
