Paul Infinger Obituary

Paul Infinger Beaufort, SC - Paul H. Infinger, 77, of Beaufort, SC, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2022. A memorial service at The Baptist Church of Beaufort will be announced at a later date. Paul was born July 26, 1945, in North Charleston, South Carolina, son of the late Gordon Infinger and Nora Kelly Infinger. He graduated from North Charleston High School and Wofford College, playing football for both schools. He was recruited by Vince Lombardi to play for the Green Bay Packers but declined, opting to attend University of South Carolina School of Law, where he obtained is J.D. degree. After graduation, he practiced law for over fifty years. After football, golf became his sport of choice, where he formed and maintained many dear friendships. His golf game was only exceeded by his boundless sense of humor on the course. He was a member for many years at Secession Golf Club. When not working or on the golf course, he was an avid hunter. Paul was a faithful and active member of The Baptist Church of Beaufort, taking his sense of humor with him into his Sunday School classes. He is survived by his wife, Peggy McMillan Infinger, his step-daughter, Megan Lee (Parker) of Mt. Pleasant, SC, and their daughter, Minnie Lee; his sister, Betty Tant (Buddy); his brother-in-law. Jack Patrick, and beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Jean Patrick, and a brother, Ted Infinger. Memorials may be made to The Baptist Church of Beaufort Endowment Fund, 600 Charles Street, Beaufort, SC 29902. Peggy and Megan, I´m so saddened to hear of Paul´s passing. I so valued his friendship, willing assistance and wisdom always, humor constantly, and generosity with golf trips and even a day at The Masters. I have thought about all of you often. There is nothing you can say about Paul that is not true. I can't tell you the number of times I feel to the floor from laughing so hard. We spent alot of time together at Secession Golf Club playing golf and sitting on the porch. Paul will be missed by many and the memory of him will never go away. I think the funniest joke he ever told ws his McFrogleg sandwich from McDonalds. For those that heard it I know this brought a smile to your face. God Bless you Paul I will miss you and your wonderful personality.

We first met Paul in the 1990's when we visited Aunt Delores and Uncle Bo at there vacation home at Kiawah Island. Funny is an understatement. Over the years we enjoyed many a joke but there was more . We loved to watch Uncle Bo laugh as he talked Paul into deviling Aunt Delores until she broke her usual southern demeaner and would occasionally cuss like a sailer. We are pretty sure she caught on to this joke and relished being a part of it. He introduced us to roasted Oysters at their lovely home in Beaufort, we lost track of hom many Tamara ate. He had lots of patience when the ladies pulled him into our shopping trips and never met a Jelly Bean he could pass up. Many years of stories and jokes were to come . He was a wonderful son in law to Bo and Delores. He managed to keep Peggy and Megan in stitches along with the rest of the family. He will be missed by many but always remembered for the joy he brought us all. All our love to the family. Cousin Ken ( " Kenny " ) and Tamara McMillan

Paul was a fine sportsman. While in law school, he acquired two beagle hounds. He said they were hunters so we went to an area outside of Columbia, ostensibly, to hunt. When he let the dogs out of the vehicle, they took off, not to be seen again for three hours. The hunting consisted of finding the dogs.

Peggy, I'm sorry to see this news. I will keep your family in my thoughts.
Paul always had a smile and encouragement for everyone. I can still hear that big laugh echoing down the halls of 1105 Bay Street.
He will certainly be missed by many.
