Mary Tezza Obituary

Mary Virginia "Ginger" Tezza, 82, of Charleston, SC, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 16, 2025. Ginger was born in Charleston, SC and was the daughter of the late Hugo and Camilla Tezza. Ginger was a graduate of Bishop England High School, Cabrini College and the College of Charleston. A beloved teacher, she served the children and families of the Charleston County School District for 30 years. Her retirement years were spent meeting the needs of others and exploring the creeks in her boat, "Little Bo Creek". She was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. She especially enjoyed singing in the choir, helping as a church office volunteer and serving as a lay Eucharistic minister for the elderly in her parish. Ginger will be remembered for her vibrant spirit and the way she loved and cared for her family and friends. Ginger is survived by her brother, Joseph M. Tezza (Charleen); her sisters, Elizabeth T. Carpenter and Mary Jane Tezza; her sister-in-law, Lillian Lamb Tezza, and her much loved 21 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Mark, Hugo, Robert, and Peter Tezza. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM, Monday, October 27, 2025, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 5 St. Teresa Drive, Charleston. The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery, 60 Huguenin Avenue, Charleston.
