We miss Doc & think of him often. His great granddaughter thought it was hysterical that he was a tushy doctor, and hopes to be a doctor like him. His gentleness, patience, and care were passed along to my mother and brother.

The Banov Family, My deepest sympathies for your loss. Dr. Banov was one of the best of the best as a boss, teacher, and perfect gentleman. I worked as his office nurse in 1979-1981. He used to tell me that I didn't work for him, I worked with him. My son, Joe, drew him a "Hippolotamus" with a bandaid on the rear that Doc got a real kick out of and I did a few cross stitch pictures for his office. I was a Thompson then but now am a George. I missed working with him so much when I moved to VA. Bless you all.

Another bright, shining light has gone out in this troubled world. Leon was a man who practiced his religion as a way of life and personified all good things in a man that we, his friends, remember and hold dear - a devoted husband to his soul mate, Rita, and a loving father and grandfather to Jane and Alan and their children. A good life well lived!

Dear Banov family, I met Doc in 1970 when I was at COC. I was in real pain and he treated me both physically and mentally. He asked about my eating, water consumption, and excretion habits. Then he told me what I must do to correct all three. I told him that I could start the serious fiber and water consumption but I didn't go to the john ever morning. He told me we should learn something new regularly; consequently, learn to go every morning. I asked how and he said to just do it. From that day until now I have had little if any problems there. I told him later that he had cured me which cost him money. He smiled and said that he would manage without me. A real healer with a great sense of humor and always the gentleman. I feel our loss.

Helen and I will miss Leon since we were with him so often and will miss that "HI" when you walk in the door. He was a great man and accomplished many outstanding things in his profession. He always kept behind in his work and he would joke about it. We have known the Banov family for decades and Helen's family even longer. You must now go from strength to strength.

We say to the Family, continue to hold on, keep the Faith, knowing that there is no sorrows that Jesus cannot heal, no hurt that he cannot feel, for all things work according to the Master's plan and his Holy will. So no matter what you are going through, remember that God is only using you, so continue to stay strong in the Lord and in the power of his might, knowing that the battle is not yours it's the Lord.
