Great guy! Showed me a lot as an incoming freshman to CofC. Very calm and soft spoken, but with a strong presence. Will be truly missed!

I knew Kenny at the College of Charleston. What a fun person to work with! His laugh was contagious. We worked on a book together ... but never published it. I hope to finish it in the near future. Maybe some of the proceeds, if it sells, can be donated to his family. I am sorry I lost touch with him after I moved from Charleston. I am very happy to have spent a little time with him.

I met John about 20 years ago at Northside Baptist Church. I believe he and Julie were newly married and starting out in life together. We had long talks about him getting a job at SPAWAR and I was so happy when he finally attained his goal. John was driven, intelligent, and thoughtful. I always cherished those rare moments when we would see each other at work. We would always stop to talk and catch up with one another. A few minutes ago I was reading our weekly summary of important events and I saw the note of John's passing. I literally let out a gasp since this was so very unexpected. Wow, I still just cannot believe this. My heart goes out to Julie during this very difficult time. My God's grace comfort you, Julie, and may you lean heavily on Him in the days ahead. I have lived a long time and seen many things but I'm not sure I will ever understand losses such as this. God bless...

John and I worked together a while ago. I knew that he became a supervisor and then emailed him a few months ago about work. I just can't believe he passed! He was truly a fine human being who would give you the shirt off of his back. He embodied a truly good leader. I'm so sorry the world no longer has him in it. I never met Julie or Aly but I'm sure you both know what I'm saying. I hope you both are able to cope and heal through your family and friends.

Hi Ken and Marilyn. Please know you are all in my heart today. I just found out. My heart is broken. I keep thinking about how I use to tease you asking if John Iiked older women. I'm not in Charleston due to some health problem, or I would be there with y'all. All my love and peace to you guys. Ken, I still love, miss and think about you and the good times we all had together.

John was a kind and humorous supervisor who always took time out to guide his subordinates or to listen to work issues and provide advice. He was approachable and would often carve time out of his schedule the same day he was contacted if I had questions. His love for Christ truly shined through his spirit and demeanor. I only knew him as my supervisor for the past two years, but he has truly made a deeply positive impact on my life and professional approach.
May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

No words can describe the pain of the hole left behind when John left this world. Despite having lost touch over several years, John 's place in my heart and mind are permanent. I have been blessed to call him friend, and my mind is a whirl with memories.

John was a giant of a man. His faith and commitment to family and to Christ as a godly example of Christian living will perhaps be missed most with his earthly absence. No words can offer comfort in such a time, I know, dearest Julie. But John's legacy is strong, and this warrior is now with his King.

Lovingly yours, always-

Julie & Aly,

What can I say other than I am shocked and saddened to hear of news of John's passing.

I worked closely with John for many years when he was a student at the College of Charleston. This in turn grew into a friendship. Although John was dedicated to his field of study, most importantly I learned of John's deep love for Christ and both of you.

Although in recent years I only bumped into John occasionally, each time our banter picked up where it left off. John was the master of dry humor, enhanced through his deadpan delivery.

I take comfort in the knowledge that John is with the Lord. Please know that Melanie and I are praying for you.

I'm just so devastated by this news. What an amazing man John turned out to be! I can't imagine what such a loss must feel like, but please know that Lori and I are praying for you both- that the Lord will give you His very presence to provide the comfort you desperately need. I've never known finer people than than you two. Thanks for being such wonderful neighbors when Lori and I were just kids and needed to see the wonderful example of marriage you both provided for us. Again, please know our thoughts and prayer are with you!
