Mary Lynn was, without question, the most impactful teacher ever in the lives of each our nine childrenHer love of literature, Latin, Downton Abbey, penguins, boiled peanuts, rice pudding and so very much more, will be indelibly linked in the minds and memories of our family for as long as we all liveWords cannot accurately express the sadness felt in our home at the news of Mary Lynn's passingShe will be missed by us and all who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with her (we are legion), but we take comfort in knowing that she is pain free and joyful in the presence of our Savior, Jesus Christ

I am so sorry for your loss, Greg, Kathryn, and Grayson. While Mary Lynn moved from Louisville years ago, she was such an important part of our family's life at the time our children were entering school. Her warmth, wisdom, and friendship were such a blessing.
Mary Lynn taught our older daughter in first grade, and I was honored that for a season after her move to Louisville, she would come by for afternoon visits at the kitchen table. Mary Lynn had the gift of making everyone around her feel special and important.
I look forward to a heavenly reunion and hearing a good story from Mary Lynn!

Greg, I was so sorry to read of Mary Lynn's passing. Though we have not been in touch since our years at Lander, please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am at such a loss for words. I have not talked to ML in a while but she has been on my heart the last month! Now I know why. She was the type of friend I could go long periods of time and not talk to and then we would spend hours on the phone talking like we never skipped a beat! I loved her so much! Greg, my heart hurts for you, and for Kathryn and Grayson and those precious grandchildren. And of course Debbie and David. You know I would be there if not for Covid. Love and prayers! Debra

Etched in my memory is our first phone call, both of us brand new to Highlands Latin School, where I suggested we hold a park gathering at E.P. Sawyer for both our first, first grade class. Once there, as we met in person for the first time, Mary Lynn made me feel like we'd known each other for years. She had that way of welcoming you into her life.

So very sorry to hear about Mary Lynn. Although we haven't spoken for many years, I have never forgotten the wonderful times Jeff and I spent with all of you. I will remember her fondly, always.

Greg and Family, Carol and I are saddened by the passing of your wife/mother.

Mary Lynn was always pleasant to Carol and I and she had a very comforting smile that we will cherish always.

I am so sorry to learn about the passing of Mary Lynn. What sweet memories I have of our time together when the children played with ours. I lost touch, but I always think about you when I pass your home on Janeway. May the love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ bring you all comfort, as well as the family, friends, and good memories. I will be out of town on Friday and won't be able to attend her service in Greenwood.

David and I are praying that the God of all comfort will carry you as you grieve. Mary Lynn loved each of you so well! She understood that she was a sinner and trusted in Jesus as her Lord and Savior. May we all do the same as Jesus alone has the words of eternal life. It is our honor to send a donation to the Charleston Classical School in Mary Lynn's memory. How fitting for an incredible teacher and friend!

Mary Lynn possessed warmth and intelligence. She was a gifted teacher and a consummate storyteller. Mary Lynn was my son's first-grade teacher, and she captured the hearts of our family as she did so many others' at Highlands Latin School. Sixteen years later she still called me her friend; I think she was watching The Lord of the Rings whenever I stopped by her house, and she still cried at the end. When we were together, we laughed at the absurdity of life until we cried. She collected interesting people around her, and she cared for them. She adored her family. She espoused the doctrines of Grace and loved her Lord and Savior. I will miss her.

Steve and I are heartbroken to hear of Mary Lynn's passing. We have such wonderful memories of our time in a Seacoast small group. Our thoughts and prayers are with Greg, Kathryn, Grayson and family.

I have wonderful memories visiting the Ross home and being amazed by the joy within that home. Mary Lynn always brought such happiness and excitement to family gatherings. She will be missed. Rest in peace, Mary Lynn.
