So sorry to read of the passing of James, the final member of one of Charleston's finest family. James & John Stedman were best friends with my mother's family: Joe, Charles, John, & Margaret Rowland. Also, my grandmother, Virginia Patterson Rowland & Miss Allison (as we all knew her) were lifelong friends. As kids, we visited Miss Allison at her home near the Citadel and always loved talking to her and James & John. The twins, James & John, are reunited with their mother and all their Old Charleston friends. They're all remembered with fondness and will be missed. RIP, dear James.
