Daun Stuart Obituary

I went to school with Daun. She was always so very quite. I was always in awe as I watched and listen to her play the flute. She was ever so talented! I went to her memorial service at ARCAE and heard all kinds of wonderful about her works with teachers and students. She was a wonderful and loving person and will be missed by many. Her sister Clelia loved her big sister very much and will miss her so much. God has yet another beautiful and talented angel to help welcome new souls into the gates of Heaven.

Daun, you were so "cool" in high school. You were and are a bright star for everyone who met you.

Daun was such a gentle and quiet soul. I remember her well from our school days at First Baptist Church School. Her beautiful legacy of kindness will long be remembered. Her family and friends are in my prayers.

The online form only offers me "friend" as an option for leaving this comment. What a bland designation for what you were to me! You were so much more. From the first day in sixth grade when I met you, when I "accidentally" tipped your desk back in class and you hit the floor and didn't punch me, I knew you would be with me for the rest of my life.

I had not seen Daun in years, but I have never forgotten playing in band at First Baptist and taking the many band trips with her and Leonard's school of music. She was extremely talented and always sweet to me, even when I was a brat. She is now a true Angel! Thank you God for blessing us with knowing her!

So sorry to hear of Daun's death. She was a terrific students at FBC Christian School, when I was principal. She will give a whole new personality to God's children in Heaven. Dr. W. Arthur Earpj

Mrs. Stuart was such a kind, sweet woman and my children already miss her. She had such an influence on them. Just the other day, my son, one of her students for kindergarten and 1st grade, was watching a cartoon & the characters were humming. Without missing a beat, he said, "They're humming the 5th symphony." When I asked how he knew that, he said he had learned it in Music class. Thank you, Mrs. Stuart for sharing your love of art and music with so many children throughout your teaching career. Your memory will live on through their love of the arts for many years to come.

Clelia, Phil and I will be thinking of you and keeping you and your family in our prayers. Daun was blessed to have you for a sister and a friend.

It was a honor to have meet you. Your laughter, your smile could lite up a room. Your hippie style was unique to you & fit your soul. A soul so loving & caring for all living things. Your love of music that you shared will live on in the hearts of everyone you touched & your students will remember you a life time. You will be forever missed But you left a legacy that we will never forget.. During the 10 years of working with Daun at Ashley River Creative Arts, I can honestly say that I never saw Daun without a soft smile on her face and a kind word from her lips. She was one of the kindest, most humble beings I have ever met. When Daun was our Teacher of the Year, she invited me to attend the recognition ceremony with her, and it was such an honor! I also remember Daun starting the guitar class during her planning period; she was truly giving of her time and talent. I will greatly miss sweet and gentle Daun.

My daughter Madison loved having you as a teacher. You will be missed not onlying by her but by everyone at ARCAE.

I wish I met you. You certainly are an angel now. You were loved by so many. You showed your love through music and hugs is quite evident. Now with God at your side, you can guide others you loved so much safely here on earth.

I knew you through Clelia and music. Your sister loved you very much. You will be missed.

Will never forget those lazy afternoons after school when we would walk/bike to either your house or mine and spend so much time reading comic books! Will also never forget the totally awesome purple house. Your mom was my hero! You were a great childhood friend and one of the kindest, gentlest souls I have ever known. Rest in peace, old friend. Ms. Stuart, you will be greatly missed. We are so thankful that our kids had you for a teacher. You had great devotion to your students and the school. Rest in peace.

Both of my daughters loved Ms Stuart as their art and music teacher at ARCAE. Her sweet and gentle spirit will be missed. Praying for her family.

Lily and I are both so saddened by this. God speed to you Mrs Stuart.

My children loved having Ms.Stuart at ARCA and she was such a kind, loving and patient person. My son was lucky enough to also have her for guitar this year as well. I know her music will be just as beautiful in Heaven... what a special angel Heaven has gained. You will be truly missed!

Daun, I will miss your love and patience with my 1D Littles! Your smile brightened my day. Your willingness to volunteer your creative energy to our annual PTA performances was a blessing. Thank you for sharing your talents with all of our children. I've loved watching them grow under your loving care from 1st - 5th grade as artists and as they learn to play the African drums or guitar.

Both my children, Andrea and Thomas, were fortunate to have Daun Stuart as a music teacher, beginning at Citadel Square Baptist Church School and later at Ashley River Creative Arts Elementary. I also worked with her at Ashley River. She was a kind and gentle person; I don't believe I ever saw her without a smile on her face. She inspired many with her music, and will be missed greatly on this earth.

Daun served our school community with such a gentle, grounded, genuine spirit. I'm honored that my children and I had some small part in her lie. Her influence will go on through all she touched.

Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Light. Daun will now forever live in his light and be a musical angel in heaven.

Daun was an everywoman, gifted in countless talents and blessed with the generosity to share abundantly with everyone around her. She represented the highest and best ideals of her school, welcoming students where they were, but always gently guiding them to become who they were meant to be.
She will be missed by all of us who were lucky enough to know her and her memory will endure in the lives of those children who were inspired and nurtured by her.

So sorry to learn of the loss of this gifted soul who I knew during her Elementary and high school years. She loved to make others smile. She will be missed more deeply for the loss of her music. Prayers for the family and her friends.

Growing up with Daun's brother Raven, I got to know the entire family very well. Daun was a tremendously sweet and gentle young lady. She was always practicing her music which was near and dear to her heart. I know she will be missed by all the lives that she has touched. The world is a worse off place without her and her music to fill it. I'm sure that she is now playing her music for the Lord.

I can still see Daun performing flute pieces, swaying with the phrasing as she so gracefully gave her best. She gave her best to her students as well. She had such wit and humor sharing music stories as well as memories of shops at the Naval Shipyard. We found that we had so much in common while she taught at Pinewood. It was a joy knowing her. We send Love to Daun's family and ask God to comfort you with His Peace as you get through the days ahead.

I was blessed to get to know Daun this school year. She was such a kind and caring person. She touched so many lives and left a wonderful legacy.

Daun's passing is a devastating loss. I knew her as a fellow music educator at Ashley River Creative Arts Elementary School and had the great pleasure of calling her my friend. I loved the passion she felt for the arts and her dedication for sharing her passion with children. She is sorely missed. Bless you, my friend. I will see you in heaven.

Our family knew Daun during her Pinewood years. In addition to her musical influences, we also shared many stories of working at the Shipyard and the College. Her calming demeanor touched children as she enriched their lives with music. I can still see her swaying as she performed flute pieces, loving and feeling the phrasing as she gracefully played.
