Joanne Jordan Baynham
AIKEN, SC - Joanne Jordan Baynham, age 72, of Aiken, S.C., daughter of the late Hoyt Jordan and the late Mamie Day Jordan, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 19, 2014.
She is survived by sons, Stephen (Missy) Baynham of Edgefield, S.C. and Michael (Julie) Baynham of Aiken, S.C.; sisters, Nancy (Howard) Barker of Graniteville, S.C. and Dale Jordan of Aiken, S.C; brothers, Albert Jordan and Sam (Dale) Jordan both of Aiken, S.C.; four grandchildren, Brittany (Josh) Holtsizer, Jacob Baynham, BryAnna Baynham and Balyn Baynham.
She was born in and was a lifetime resident of Aiken County, S.C. She retired from USC Aiken Campus and was actively employed as the Secretary at her church, Bethel Baptist, in Aiken, S.C. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved her family, her church family and above all, she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She shall be greatly missed by all whose lives she touched during the 72 precious years that God granted her on this earth; however, death is not the end for her, as she has just made that great transition to her new Heavenly home. There she will have a new body with no more pain, nor sorrow for all is joy and peace in that fair land. "To be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord".
The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Wednesday evening, October 22nd from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A service, celebrating her life, will be held at Bethel Baptist Church in Aiken on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Brancie Stephens officiating. The interment will follow at Aiken Memorial Park.
