Geraldine "Gerry" Self
Beech Island - Mrs. Geraldine Reams "Gerry" Self, 92, of Beech Island, SC, wife of the late General Lee Self, entered into rest on Saturday, February 27, 2021.
Born in and a resident of Sylacauga, AL, until 1953, she was a daughter of the late Joe and Gladys Phipps Reams. She retired from E.I. DuPont, where she was a Lab Analyst, after thirty-two years of service. Miss Gerry was a member of Bath First Baptist Church and was a former member of Matlock Baptist Church. She was also a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. A perfectionist, Miss Gerry enjoyed cross stitching, crocheting and word search.
In addition to her husband and parents, family members include a daughter and her husband, Patricia Ann "Pat" and Harold Glazener, Beech Island, SC and her beloved granddaughters, the late Leesa Diane and Mary Darlene Glazener.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, beginning at 2 o'clock in the Family Life Center of Bath First Baptist Church, Bath, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3 o'clock in the Family Life Center. Pastor Herb Sons and Mr. Ronnie Duncan will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC. Pallbearers will be Steve Baker, John Coleman, Tommy Adair, Rob Russell, Garry Glazener and Harry Barton. Honorary pallbearers will be Mildred Frye, Jodonne Reese, Kathy Shreves, Roxanne Russell, Wanda Smith, Pam Waller, Bonnie Kyzer, Carole Gambrell, Betty Owens, Dale Barton, Robbie Boring, Syble Thomas, Darlene Spires and Jackie Williamson.
It has been requested that memorials be made to Solomon's Project at Bath First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 240 Bath, SC 29860.
