Angela Burkett Obituary

Mrs. Angela Josey Burkett, 61, beloved wife of Mr. Douglas Edward Burkett, entered into rest on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. Through her passing she leaves a deep void, her life was one filled with love, laughter, and beautiful memories that will be cherished always. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hansen and Betty Josey and sister, Lawanda Smith.

Angela's greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love in her devoted husband, Douglas, and her children, Amanda Scouten, Deborah Swager, Angel Jordan (Samuel), Glenn Bohler, and Robert Burkett. She was a proud and loving sister to Renee Smith (Larry) and Gerald Josey and a deeply cherished grandmother (Nina) to Damon Swager, Harley Swager, Cassie Jordan, Kayce Jordan, Jace Anderson, Landen Bohler, Ayden Anderson, Rianna Scouten, and Gage Scouten. Each of them carries forward a peice of her spirit and warmth she so freely gave.

Raised on New Bethel on Addison Josey Family Farm in Riddleville, Georgia, by her beloved family, Angela grew up surrounded by the simple beauty of country life and the strength of family roots that remained dear to her heart throughout her life.

Angela had a song in her soul. A talented singer, she embraced every opportunity to perform, finding joy in music and sharing that joy with others. Weather singing or dancing, she lived with a sense of freedom and happiness that was contagious to all who knew her.

She found peace and happiness in life's simple pleasures-especially trips to the ocean, where the sound of the waves and the sight of the lighthouses brought her comfort and wonder. Above all, Angela treasured the time spent with her children, grandchildren, and her beloved dogs, creating moments that will be remembered and held close forever.

Angela will be remembered for her loving heart, her vibrant spirit, and the way she made those around her feel truly special.

Her life was a beautiful melody that will continue to echo in the hearts of all who loved her.
