Roy Crigger, 69, left this world on 12/31/2025, surrounded by his loving family at home.
Roy was born on March 4, 1956, in
Manassas, VA, to Joe Crigger and Verna Bott. As a child, he was known for his curiosity and adventurous spirit, often helping his family with household projects and spending time outdoors with friends. He developed lifelong friendships in his neighborhood, remembered fondly for organizing games and backyard adventures.
A loving husband to his late wife, Deborah Horn, Roy was a pillar of strength and support for his family. Together, they raised four children: late Quentin Pritchett, Carrie Crigger, Cory Crigger, and Jacob Crigger. As a devoted father, Roy was always ready to offer guidance, unconditional love, and a hearty laugh. He had a special talent for making everyone feel welcome in his home, often hosting barbecues, birthday parties, and spontaneous get-togethers that became cherished family traditions. Roy's wisdom, kindness, and humor left a lasting impact on his children and grandchildren, who will forever remember his larger-than-life personality and unwavering devotion.
Roy had many passions in life, most notably his love for cars and rebuilding engines-a hobby he enthusiastically shared with his children and grandchildren. He spent countless hours under the hood, teaching them the intricacies of an engine and passing on valuable skills and stories. Roy's reputation as a master mechanic spread throughout the community, and he often helped neighbors with their vehicles, never asking for anything in return. Roy also enjoyed fishing, camping, and watching classic Westerns, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was known for his boisterous nature, and his sense of humor could light up any room, always ready with a quick joke or a playful tease. Friends and family will remember his infectious laughter, his generous spirit, and his ability to bring people together.
He is survived by his children Stephanie Luong, Carrie Crigger, Cory Crigger, Jacob Crigger, and Hayden Manis; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Martha Cann, BarbaraJean Blevins, and Linda Crigger, as well as many nieces, nephews, and countless friends who will miss his generous spirit and loving presence. Roy's family extends heartfelt thanks to all who supported him during his struggles, especially the caregivers and friends who offered comfort and companionship. The family is grateful for the many fond memories and stories shared by those whose lives Roy touched, and for the community's outpouring of support during this difficult time.
A funeral service to celebrate Roy's life will be held on 1/10/2026 at Vereen Memorial Gardens in
