Stella Stowe Obituary

Stella F. Stowe, age 94, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024 in Greenville, SC. She was born in Toccoa, GA and had resided in Greenville since 1951. Stella was the wife of the late Charles W. Stowe.

Stella spent many years doing volunteer work with the Greenville Council of Garden Clubs and the Clarice Wilson Garden Club. She was also part of the project that relocated the Kilgore-Lewis House to North Academy Street. She was a member of Edwards Road Baptist Church and a former member of Pendleton Street Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son Gary L. Stowe (Nancy) of Lawrenceville, GA; grandchildren Charles, Jennifer and Chris Waites and Neil, Joshua, and Elizabeth Stowe; and six great grandchildren.

Stella was predeceased by her parents Rufus and Dora Edmonds Frady, brothers Ralph and Johnny Frady, sister Louise F. Hodge, and daughter Susan S. Waites.

Services for Stella will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Mackey Funerals and Cremations at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Dr., Greenville, SC 29609. Visitation begins at 1:00 PM followed by the funeral in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 PM. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park after the service.
