Miriam Nickels Obituary

Miriam Schoenhardt Chadderton Nickels, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully at the age of 83 on March 30, 2026, in Greer, South Carolina.

Born on October 21, 1942, in Brooklyn, NY, she was the cherished daughter of the late Frederick and Marie Schoenhardt.

Miriam had a spirited personality who loved staying active through her work and spending time with her many friends. She especially enjoyed her years living in Sarasota, Florida before retiring to Greer.

Surviving are her husband, Lee Nickels; her son, Ray Chadderton and daughter-in-law, Lynn; her daughter, Elaine Chadderton Davis and son-in-law, Roger, and her treasured grandchildren, Ryan Chadderton, Lauren Chadderton, Adam Davis, and Alyssa Davis. She also leaves behind her brother, John Schoenhardt and sister-in-law Brenda, along with many nieces and nephews who will remember her with love and laughter.

Miriam's unwavering spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Jeannie Schoenhardt Carroll and her brother, Donnie Schoenhardt, who will welcome her with open arms.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Sarasota, Florida.
