Melanie Conner Obituary

Melanie Kaye Conner, 51, loving wife of Olin "David" Conner, of Lyman, South Carolina, died February 21, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

A native of Greenville County, she was the daughter of Raymond and Kathy Gosnell Wolfe of Greer, South Carolina. Melanie was a 1992 graduate of Blue Ridge High School. She dedicated her career to caring for others in the field of nursing. She began her career as a certified nursing assistant and knew her calling was in health care. This realization steered her back to Spartanburg Technical College to pursue a degree in nursing. The joy she found in her job led her to continue her education, earning her master's degree while she worked as a school nurse at Cherrydale Elementary and later retired as a health care administrator.

Melanie enjoyed crafting, spending time with friends who she loved, being in nature as often as possible, and being an active member of Double Springs Baptist Church. She considered being a grandmother a big blessing of her life.

Surviving in addition to her husband and parents are her children, John Edwin Huff (Heather) of Greer, South Carolina, Kayla Huff of Mill Spring, North Carolina, Katie Huff of Greer, South Carolina, and Charlie Conner (Isabella) of Boiling Springs, South Carolina; her sister, Marti Watts (Leonard) of Greer, South Carolina; her niece, Olivia Watts and her nephew, Braylon Watts. Also surviving are her wonderful grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as Gam and Ga-Ga, Lilly-Anne Huff, John Huff, Jason and Savannah Huff, Brookelyn Kimbrell all of Greer, SC, and Kaleigha Poteat of the home.

She was predeceased by her grandparents, Hosie and Gertrude Wolfe, Sam and Margaret Gosnell.

Melanie's love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, was evident in her love for her church, family, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Double Springs Baptist Church, 3800 Locust Hill Road, Taylors, South Carolina.

Funeral services will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2026, in the church with Dr. Kevin Elders and Rev. Keith Mincey officiating.

Interment will be held after the service at the Double Springs Baptist Church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Joey Anders, Reese Banks, Tommy Brooks, Jamie Buchanon, Russ Howard, and Scott Southern.
