Louie Kemp Obituary

Louie Randall Kemp, 86, passed away August 1, 2025. A native of Greer, South Carolina, son of the late A.B. Kemp and Ina Forrester Kemp Harper, he served in the U.S. Army National Guard, retired as sewing room manager for Lyman Mill after 43 years of service and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Louie loved to garden, his family, his church, and his beloved granddaughter, Miranda Grace. He and Margie were married for 66 years, they faithfully delivered Meals on Wheels, and loved traveling with their dear friends, Henry and Elizabeth Waldrop. He was always the champion of the underdog, always helping anyone in need. Louie also loved all of his work family. Surviving are his wife, Marjorie June Nichols Kemp of the home; a son, Randall S. "Randy" Kemp (Rogene) of Greer; and a granddaughter, Miranda Grace Kemp. Louie was predeceased by three brothers, John L. Kemp, Lanny Kemp and Colin Kemp. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Rick Schubert and Rev. Ronnie Williams. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Johnny Kemp, Jeff Kemp, David Roach, Clay Kemp, Ricky Bridwell, Ricky DeHart, Nelson Mills and Chris Burgess. Honorary escorts will be Timmy Kemp, Scott McGregor, Charlie Ward, and Jim Borgia. Visitation will be held 12:45-1:45 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
