Larry Boiter Obituary

Larry McKinney Boiter, 76, devoted husband of 54 years to Gloria Charpia Boiter, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026.

Born March 25, 1949, in Greenville County, he was the son of the late Lawrence Odell and Florine McKinney Boiter.

He graduated from Wade Hampton High School in 1967. Larry served in Vietnam in the US Army. After returning home, while working a full-time job, Larry attended Greenville Technical College and married his high school sweetheart. He began his architectural career in 1972 with Piedmont Engineers and Architects. Larry worked with several of the larger firms in Greenville and retired from Adeptus Architecture in 2019.

In retirement, Larry loved to work in his yard and was always complimented on how manicured he kept it. He loved doing projects around the house and always had something going. Larry had a passion for restoring older vehicles. His last project was a 1981 Red Jeep Renegade. He was a great storyteller, devoted father, loved his family and sweet dog Zoey and delighted in the joys of his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Bradley Todd Boiter (Rachel) and Timothy Ryan Boiter (Maranda); his beloved grandchildren, Logan and Riley Grace Boiter, Zen Robinson (Hunter) and Adalynn Yarborough; two great grandchildren, Bralyn and Payton Robinson; two sisters, Jenny Boling (Mike) and Beth Zeller (Richard) and many nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until 1:45 p.m., on Sunday, February 8, 2026 at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Downtown, immediately followed by the funeral at 2:00 p.m. in chapel. The family will have a private burial.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of your choice.
