Edith Bailey Obituary

Edith Louise Bailey, 87, beloved wife of Robert Bailey, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2025. Born in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Edith was the daughter of the late Oscar and Lurlene Ricks Russell. She was a devoted member of Oakcrest Baptist Church for many years, where she faithfully served in the Women's Missionary Union (WMU). In later years, she became a cherished member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. Edith was married to the love of her life, Robert, for 61 beautiful years-a union built on deep love, unwavering faith, and lifelong devotion to one another and to the Lord. She was the heart of her family, a loving and devoted wife, a wonderful mother, and a proud grandmother. Edith's love for her family knew no bounds, and she was treasured by them in return. Though she will be deeply missed, her enduring legacy of love, faith, and strong family values will live on through all who knew and loved her. In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by daughter, Kim Deaton (Randy); sons, Jay Bailey and Jimbo Bailey (Kathrine); grandchildren, Joseph Deaton, Taylor Deaton (Trey), Cruze Bailey; and great-grandchildren, Isabel Humphries and Camden Connolley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son, Gerald Baldwin; and grandson, Russell Baldwin. A visitation will be held Tuesday, April 15, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Northwest, with the funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m. in the Northwest Chapel. Memaw, you will be more than missed. I will carry you in my heart and in the hearts of my children for the rest of my life. You´re finally at home now, and as much as it aches to say goodbye to you, I know you are happier than you´ve ever been. Rest easy. I love you so much.

Bob, Jimbo and family, Edith was a true friend and will be missed. She was such an inspiration to us and was always a pleasure to be around. So many memories of her and she always had a smile on her face. She had the light of Jesus in her everytime I saw her and we know she was a follower of Christ. Prayers to you all, at this time.
God Bless, Tami and William
