Charles Cantrell Obituary

Charles Edward Cantrell Sr., 79, passed away peacefully at home on September 3, 2025. Born on May 17, 1946, in Greer, South Carolina, he was the beloved son of the late Fred and Iva Bell Cantrell. A proud U.S. Army Vietnam War veteran, Charles later worked as an electrician-a career he approached with great pride and expertise. His passion for craftsmanship extended beyond his profession; he found deep joy in restoring old cars, combining skill and artistry in every project. In the fall of 2021, Charles and his devoted wife, Luzminda Bihag Cantrell, settled in Jennings, where they enjoyed a loving life built together. Charles is survived by his wife Luzminda Cantrell; his son, Charles "Chuck" Cantrell Jr. (Teresa); grandchildren Maxwell, Samuel, and Jacob Cantrell (Mackenzie); and great-grandchildren Mason and Mackenna. He is also survived by his brother, James "Tony" Cantrell (Susan), and sisters Debra Adams (Clarence) and Violet "Tina" Murphy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Iva Bell Cantrell; brothers George and Johnny Cantrell; and sisters Carolyn Cockcroft, Helen Hand, Virginia Hannon, and Janette Cowart. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 5, 2025, at The Wood Mortuary, Inc., located at 300 West Poinsett Street in Greer, South Carolina. The viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. Graveside services will follow at 11:00 am, Friday at Hillcrest Memory Gardens conducted by Dr. Keith Kelly with military honors.
