Virginia Finley Obituary

Virginia Dowden Finley, 83, of Greenville, passed away Sunday February 1, 2026.

Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of the late Leslie R. Dowden and Nellie Waldrep Dowden. She was the wife of the late Luther James Finley Jr, and they owned Finley's Market on Augusta Street.

Virginia was a graduate of Parker High School. She worked as a school crossing guard for the Greenville County Sheriff's Office while being a full time employee of K-Mart Corporation. She retired from both the Greenville County Sheriff's Office and K-Mart Corporation after twenty years of service.

She was preceded in death by her sister Joanna Huberty and her brother-in-law Jim Huberty, both of Minnesota.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Luther James Finley III and wife, Tracy Carter Finley, of Greenville and Walter Raymond Finley and wife, Ashley Queen Finley, of Greenville, nephew Scott Huberty of Minnesota, his wife and children, and niece Lesli Pfannenstein of Minnesota and her daughter.

A private burial will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
