Betty Chaney Obituary

Betty Jane Cox Chaney, 93, amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, peacefully entered into Glory on Saturday, February 7, 2026, surrounded by family at home.

Born in Oklahoma, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Hobert and Edna (Baker) Cox. She graduated from the Oklahoma Baptist School of Nursing and then married her sweetheart, Gilbert Chaney.

Betty served the Lord well in various settings within the field of nursing. She was an active member of her church and loved Jesus with all her heart.

She is survived by her four children, Brenda Bate (Bob), Mary Ferro (Joe), Marty McMindes (Kevin), and Dan Chaney (Cindy); 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and five step-siblings.

In addition to her parents, Betty was reunited in heaven with her husband, Gil Chaney; and two brothers.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 19, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church followed by the Celebration of Life at 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, Betty would be blessed by any contributions to Calvary Baptist Church Missions.
