Sean Bowdren Obituary

Mr. Sean Bowdren, age 66 of Beaufort SC, passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025 at his residence in Beaufort. In Loving Memory of Sean Patrick Bowdren born in Peekskill, New York to John & Cecilia Bowdren. He is the second of eight children with four brothers, Brian, Timothy, Patrick, Terrance and three sisters, Kathie, Mary-Ellen and Sheila. The world lost a bright light and a true hometown hero with the passing of Sean Patrick Bowdren. His life was defined by kindness, laughter and an unwavering love for his family, friends and country. Sean never met a stranger-he had a gift for making everyone feel seen, welcomed and valued. His easy smile and genuine warmth brought people together, whether around a backyard fire, out on the water, or simply in conversation. He carried with him the heart of a community, always giving more than he took and leaving behind countless memories of friendship, generosity and good humor. A proud patriot, Sean served his country honorably in the United States Navy. His time in service reflected his steadfast sense of duty, loyalty and love for the nation he so deeply believed in. Following his military service, Sean continued serving his country proudly for 21 years providing technical expertise under the U.S. Marine Corps F/A-18 program. Later in life Sean found peace and happiness in the Lowcountry, where he loved the rhythm of the tides and the quiet beauty of the mud bluff he called home. It was there he found his sanctuary-a place where the sun rose gently over the marshland where he could feel the simple joys of life most deeply. Sean is survived by his three beloved sons-Brett, Devin and Collin along with his two daughters-in-law Rebecca and Anne and four grandchildren, Hadley, Parker, Briggs, and Rhett-who were the pride and joy of his life. He eagerly awaited the arrival of a fifth grand child at the time of his passing. Through them, his legacy of courage, kindness and love will continue to live on. He was loved by many and will be missed by all who had the honor to know him. Though he may have left this earth, Sean's spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him, carried on by the laughter he inspired and the love he shared so freely. Fair winds and following seas, Sean. Your journey continues and your memory will never fade. Visitation will be held on Monday November 10, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Anderson Funeral Home & Crematory. A graveside service will follow visitation in the Beaufort National Cemetery at 12:00 PM EST. A celebration of life will follow at AM Vets Post 70 1831 Ribaut Rd, Beaufort, SC.

My goodness, it breaks my heart to hear of his passing. His smile lit up the room, whether you saw him at the local market or in St Columbanus grade school. His kindness and friendship mirrored his parents. I'm glad to have known him.
