Dennis Glass Obituary

Dennis Lamar Glass, 70, husband of Bonnie Sue Glass, of Beaufort, SC, passed on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at MUSC in Charleston.

Dennis "Rainman" Glass

"My wonderful hubby's work on earth for the Lord and his family was over on March 25, 2026."

Dennis and Bonnie were married in March 1988 and enjoyed 38 years of marriage. Dennis loved his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and family. He enjoyed playing drums and guitar for church praise and worship. He loved Beaufort, his hometown, and would share this with any visiting tourist.

Dennis was born and raised in Beaufort, SC. He started his construction career at 19, following this career path to become an interior trim carpenter and started D. L. Glass Carpentry in 1997. Dennis left his signature on the back of every mantelpiece he made, believing in always doing his best work because homeowners would be looking at it for a long time. He took pride in his work while also providing for his family.

In 1999, Dennis started riding a motorcycle again. In 2000, he became acquainted with the Christian Motorcycle Association (CMA) after attending Myrtle Beach Bike Week. It resulted in Dennis forming a local chapter of the Roman Road Riders, of which he was the first chapter president. He loved the motorcycle community and cherished every person he met. He rode on as many rides as possible, and he couldn't wait for the next one. He started camping at Myrtle Beach for bike weeks. He ventured to Daytona Beach Bike Week a couple of times, but preferred local rides where he created friendships that lasted until his going home. Dennis earned his road name of Rainman. If he led a ride, it seemed like there would be rain before it finished. He rode to Ohio and was rained on in every state along the way.

The first week Dennis rode with CMA, a biker went down and was air-lifted to MUSC. He was immediately on the way there to pray with the family in the waiting area. He genuinely cared whether he knew you or not. Riding for Jesus became a passion for Dennis.

We all will miss him, and the mission remains the same. The CMA Motto: Changing the world one heart at a time. Carry the Word into the highway and byways. Praying and sharing wherever possible until God calls us home. Love you forever.

Matt 28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit."

Dennis was born on November 1, 1955, in Beaufort, SC. He is the son of the late James Lamar Glass and Betty Corbin Baker. Dennis is survived by his wife, Bonnie, his daughter, Krystal Reid, two sons, Russell Glass and John (Mary) Peters; three brothers, William Neal Glass, James Scott (Karen) Glass, and Marti J. (Sandy) Glass; eleven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Beaufort Church of God, Jasper Beaufort ABATE Downed Riders Fund, and/or cmausa.org Run for the Son.

Yesterday

Bonnie, Steve and I share your sorrow for the loss of Dennis. He held such a special place in my heart as he stood the Honor Guard for my stepdad who was buried at the Beaufort National Cemetery in 2018. We really enjoyed your visits to the upcountry and pray for your comfort and peace moving forward. We cherish his memory and pray for you at this time. You are loved. Lana
