Rosa Wilson Obituary

Rosa Marie Owens Wilson, 67, a beloved mother and the widow of Jerry Wilson, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, March 16, 2022 in Moncks Corner, SC.

Mrs. Wilson was born a daughter of Odell Lewis Owens and Nellie Mae Huggins Owens on August 20, 1954, in Lake City, SC. She was 1972 graduate of Williamsburg High School and earned an Associate Degree in Business Administration from Williamsburg Technical College in Kingstree. She was a former salesclerk at the Kingstree Dry Cleaners. She was part of the Spring Pond Pentecostal Holiness Church family for many years, and in support of her son's ministry, Pastor Eddie, she attended the Scranton Pentecostal Holiness Church where she served as the Women's Ministries Secretary. She was a Southern lady and a Country mom where her house was a home to everyone and she hosted many "visits" and conversations preferably on her porch. She loved collecting rare and unique items. Her greatest accomplishment was her fulfillment as a "Beloved Mother" who's arms were a haven of rest and security, and her love a strength and support in every situation for her husband, children, grandchildren, siblings, and all who entered.

Rosa and Jerry were married March 23, 1974 and celebrated 25 years together. Their home was blessed with three children: Edward Jackson "Eddie" Wilson (Karen), Jerry Adam "Termite" Wilson (Amanda), and Mizzie Amanda "Mandy" Wilson; and three grandchildren, Timothy Adam Wilson (Maddy Brown), Pvt. Kristen Nicole Wilson, and Madison Makinley Wilson (Trey McCutcheon).

She is also survived by: her siblings, Glenn Owens (Jie), James Herbert "Herbie" Owens (Bitzie), Linda O. Poston, and Marlene O. Litchfield (Donald); and a large extend family including her Wilson family in-laws, and a large number of nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by: her parents; her husband; and a brother in law, Phillip Poston.

A Home Going Celebration in honor of Rosa and her daughter, Mandy, will be 2PM, Monday, March 21, 2022 at the Andrews First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 112 North Magnolia Ave., Andrews. Interment will follow in the Spring Pond Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.

The Wilson family will receive family and friends from 5-8 PM on Sunday evening in the sanctuary of the Andrews First PHC.

McKenzie Funeral Home is honored to serve the Wilson family.
