Henry Ziliotto Obituary

Henry Lewis Ziliotto, born January 31, 1947 in Auburn, New York, died July 29, 2025 at Georgetown Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Elizabeth Ann, son Christopher Henry, and daughters Jennifer McCrudden, (Brian), Elisa Mullan (Steven), sister Lynn Innes and grandchildren, Sean Henry Thomas Mullan, and Leslie and Will McCrudden. Henry was predeceased by parents Enrico and Laura Malerbi Ziliotto, in-laws Edward and Grace Pailes, and brother -in- law Edward Pailes Jr. Also survived by beloved family members Rosemary Pailes, Barbara and John Byrd, Grace and Peter Bertell and families.

Henry enlisted and served proudly in the USMC for 4 years as a radar air traffic controller. His tour of duty included service as an E5 in Okinawa and Quang Tri Vietnam. Henry achieved a degree in Criminal Justice and served as a Patrolman for the Nassau County Police Department for nearly 25 years. He became an AEMT assigned to the Ambulance Bureau, then shuttled mass trauma to nearby hospitals by helicopter with his assignment at the Air Bureau. Before his retirement he earned certification as an x-ray technician and was employed by Nassau County Medical Center and Brunswick Hospital. In 1997 Henry moved from Wantagh, NY to retire to Pawleys Island, SC and built a home at Heritage Plantation. He became an employee at Georgetown Hospital where he was employed for over 15 years and worked alongside several Orthopedic Surgeons.

Hank had a great sense of humor and loved being around people. He made us all laugh. He was an avid reader, loved the beach and to play golf when he could. He was a wonderful Dad who helped with scouting, church youth groups, little league coaching or coordinating a golf fund raiser for Trinty Lutheran Church and School. He enjoyed traveling with family until his Parkinson's Disease became more advanced. He fought hard with Rock Steady Boxing and exercise classes to slow its progression. As he became more dependent there wasn't a day that he didn't thank us for our help and loving care.

Hank spent his life in community service as a veteran, police officer, and medical technician. Always caring for others and later in life needing that care himself.

In lieu of flowers, donations to The Michael J Fox Parkinson's Research or The Wounded Warrior Project would be appreciated.
