Florence Ann Wiggins, 76, affectionately known to many as "Noot", daughter of the late Lemuel Sr. and Mattie Myers Wiggins, was born on September 28, 1948, in Beaufort, South Carolina.
Florence devoted her life to Christ at an early, age under the guidance of the late Reverend Jacob J. Jamerson, and later Pastor Edward L. Cushingberry Jr., at New Hope Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), where she was a member.
She was educated in the local public schools of Beaufort County. She attended Robert Smalls High School until 11th grade, when she selflessly assumed caregiving responsibilities for her siblings. In 1968, Florence was united in marriage with Earl BB Wiggins, and together they raised four accomplished daughters.
Cooking was a passion of hers, and she worked at Mom's Golden Nugget for many years, where she served as both cook and manager. Later in life, Florence pursued various cooking positions, housekeeping roles, and eventually worked at Walmart until 2006, when her husband's health necessitated her full-time care. As a loving wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and friend, Florence was renowned for her candor and willingness to offer guidance.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Earl BB Wiggins; her sisters: Rosalie Wilson, Irene Wiggins Simmons, Lizzie Wiggins Cloud, and Vernell Wiggins Powell; and her brothers, John Myers, Lemuel Wiggins Jr., and Michael Wiggins.
Florence's legacy lives on through her four devoted daughters: Norma Wiggins Washington (Terry) of Seabrook, South Carolina, Yolanda Katina Holmes (Tyrone) of St. Helena Island, South Carolina,Earline Wiggins Green, and Ann-Marie Wiggins of Burton, South Carolina; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren.
