Anthony Dennis Obituary
In Loving Memory of Anthony Allen Dennis
Anthony Allen Dennis, age 70, of Beaufort, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 8, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Anthony's wishes were to be cremated. Services have not yet been scheduled and will be updated as they are made.
Known to all as Allen, he was born on April 11, 1955, in Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines, to Jim and Felicitas Dennis. A graduate of Warner Robins High School and Mercer University, Allen eventually settled in Beaufort, where he built a life centered on family, friendship, and faith.
Allen dedicated his life to his passion for flying. He served his country with honor for over 20 years in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. As a highly decorated C-141 Starlifter pilot, he flew combat missions in Operations DESERT SHIELD, DESERT STORM, and SOUTHERN WATCH. While continuing his service in the Air Force Reserves, Allen achieved his lifelong dream of becoming a Captain with Delta Air Lines. He flew with Delta for more than 30 years, amassing tens of thousands of flight hours and earning the deep respect of his peers for his skill and professionalism.
Beyond the cockpit, Allen was a gifted athlete who excelled in baseball, basketball, and football at the high school, collegiate, and minor league levels. He was a devoted fan of the Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals, and the Kentucky Wildcats, and his passion for the game was a lifelong source of joy. Allen also had a deep love for music and entertaining. As a talented musician and singer, he brought joy to many; the stage was his home. He will be remembered most for his never-ending sense of humor and quick wit, which filled every room with laughter and warmth
The singular focus and love of Allen's life was his daughter, Molly. He gave her the greatest gift one person can give another: he believed in her. His unwavering confidence in her served as her armor throughout life. He proudly watched her follow in his footsteps, achieving her own dreams of becoming a licensed pilot and an instructor pilot. They were truly best friends, sharing their time talking about flying, watching the Reds, Bengals, or Wildcats, and laughing at his bad dad jokes and dance moves. Molly hopes to honor his memory by living with the same courage and integrity he taught her to value.
Allen's kindness, laughter, and spirit touched all who knew him and will remain with them always. Though his absence is deeply felt, his loved ones take comfort in knowing that his spirit lives on in the memories they will forever cherish. Until we are together again, may you rest in peace and soar freely with your new wings.
Allen is survived by his daughter, Molly Dennis; his fiancée, Tammy Johnson; his father, James (Jim) Dennis; his brother, James (Eddie) Dennis; his sister, Diana Dennis Mizell; his sister-in-law, Toni Prevatt Dennis; his brother-in-law, Allan Mizell; and his former spouse, Beverly Brown Dennis. He is also remembered by many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Felicitas Dennis.
