Willie Platt Obituary

PLATT, Willie DENMARK, SC - Mr. Willie W. Platt, died February 1, 2007, at C.M. Tucker Nursing Home in Columbia after an extended illness. Mr. Platt was born October 8, 1917, in Allendale County a son of the late Frank H. Platt and Rhode F. Plat. He was a retired farmer and retired from J.W. Williamson Ginnery. He is survived by his wife, Sallie H. Platt of Bradford Village, Santee, SC, and a daughter Carolyn P. Johnson and her husband O'Dell Johnson of Eutawville, SC, a son Gene Platt and his wife Debbie Platt of Stump Hole Landing, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 4, 2007, at 3 p.m. at MERCER FUNERAL HOME, with Rev. Andy Hunter and Rev. John V. Platt officiating. Burial will follow in Bamberg Memory Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Johnson, Susan Quattlebaum, Bobby Fail, Glenn Platt, Kim Pricket and Allen Barton. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m., Sunday, until the hour of service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to The First Baptist Church, P.O.
