William Schell Obituary

William Raymond Schell "Bill" HOLLY HILL, SC - Dr. William Raymond "Bill" Schell, PhD, 86, of Holly Hill, husband of Jean Smoak Schell, died Friday, December 11, 2009, in a North Charleston hospital. A memorial service will be held, 3 p.m., Sunday, at First Baptist Church, Holly Hill, with Dr. David Brien and Rev. Earl Behr officiating. Burial will be private. Dr. Schell was born in Seattle, Wash., a son of the late William Emil Schell and Freida Schell. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and was a retired Principal from the San Diego, Cal. public schools. Dr. Schell was a member of the First Baptist Church, Holly Hill, and was first married to the late Eileen Schell. Surviving are his wife of the home; daughters, Connie Schell and Leeanne Pearson, both of San Diego, Cal.; sons, Bill and Christopher Schell, both of San Diego, Cal.; step-children, Russell (Elizabeth) Lewis, Caroline (Jacob) Shuler, and Ben (Kathy) Lewis, all of Holly Hill; a sister, Kay Outka of Ames, Iowa; grandchildren, Deeanne, Joeanne, Trevor, Noah, Elizabeth Jane, Caroline Camille, Hilary, Jake, Michael, and Connor; and great-grandchildren, Brooke and Brianna. The family will receive friends after the service in the fellowship hall and other times at the residence.
