William Middlemas Obituary

MIDDLEMAS, William William Hines Middlemas, a resident of Appalachian Christian Village in Johnson City, TN, died Sunday, February 26, 2006. He was 94. Born in 1912 in Atlanta, GA, Mr. Middlemas was the son of the late Robert Orr and Elizabeth Warren Middlemas. He grew up in Clarksville, Georgia and lived for many years in Charleston, SC, where he worked for the U.S. Naval Shipyard. Mr. Middlemas loved to read, enjoyed music and playing golf, and was a long-time member of the Unitarian Church in Charleston. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Clarie and George Petsch of Atlanta; sons and daughters-in-law, William Hines Middlemas, Jr. and wife Franchesca Silvano of Bethesda, MD and Eric and Judy Bridwell Middlemas of Johnson City; seven grandchildren: Justin Brent of Clinton, SC, Lara Brent and Lindsay Petsch, both of Atlanta; Sylvia Middlemas, Erin Middlemas, and Eleanor Middlemas all of Johnson City, and Jessica Middlemas of Milan, Italy; two great-granchildren, sienna Brent and John Albert Brent both of Clinton, SC; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death on October 1996, by his wife, Grace Elizabeth Farris Middlemas; three sisters and three brothers. The Funeral Service for William Hines Middlemas will be conducted at 7:00 PM, Thursday, March 2nd in the Sunrise chapel of Tetrick Funeral Services, Johnson City. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 PM in the chapel prior to the service. The Committal and Graveside Service will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday March 4th in the Unitarian Church Cemetery, Charleston, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Unitarian church, 8 Archdale St., Charleston, SC 29401 - (843-723-4617.)
