William "Billy" E. Hawk GOOSE CREEK - William "Billy" E. Hawk, 85, of Goose Creek, husband of Ruth D. (Anderson) Hawk, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Veteran's Victory House in Walterboro. Friends and family may call at James A. Dyal Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 from 6 o'clock until 8 o'clock PM. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 11 o'clock AM at Palmetto Land Baptist Church, 114 Tomaka Drive, Summerville. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in North Charleston. William was born on September 23, 1929 in Millville, FL, son of the late William Watson Hawk and Doris Sophia (Mauldin) Hawk. He served in the United States Air Force for 24 years and was a Vietnam veteran. He retired from United States Postal Service. Billy was a deacon in Oakie Ridge Baptist Church for several years. He was a wonderful husband and father. Surviving in addition to his wife Ruth of 64 years are: one daughter: Linda Sharlene (Hawk) Carpenter (Gene) of Goose Creek; two sisters: Janie Hawk Eden of Chipley, FL and June Hawk Gainer of Chipley, FL; six grandchildren: Daniel Carpenter, Donna Carpenter, Jesse McLellan, James McLellan, Thomas Hawk and Sean Hawk; five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Susann McLellan, his son, Michael Hawk and two grandchildren, Jared McLellan and Douglas Carpenter.
