Patrick Partin
Camden, SC - Patrick David "Pat" Partin, 75, of Camden, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026. Born on January 13, 1951, in Camden, he was a lifelong member of the community he deeply loved and served.
Pat was the son of the late Rose M. Partin and Edwin D. Partin. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Elizabeth "Maj" Finklea Partin, and his brother, Andrew S. "Andy" Partin.
He is survived by his children, David Andrew Partin (Gretchen) of Camden, South Carolina, and Elizabeth Louise Partin of Lancaster, South Carolina; his grandson, Andrew Meade Partin (son of David and Gretchen); his siblings, Phillip E. Partin (Barbara) of Camden, South Carolina, Roderick A. Partin (Dawn) of Summerville, South Carolina, and Gwendolyn Partin Murphy (Keith) of Columbia, South Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.
A proud graduate of Camden High School, Class of 1969, Pat was a dedicated student-athlete who lettered for three years on the football team. He went on to attend The Citadel, where he served as the 3rd Battalion Executive Officer and graduated Class of 1973. He continued his education by earning his law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law, Class of 1978
Pat devoted 36 years of his life to practicing law in Camden. His commitment to public service was evident through his 12 years as a Camden City Council member, as well as his involvement with numerous community organizations. He served on the board of Habitat for Humanity, was a founding board member of the Community Medical Clinic (CMC) of Kershaw County, and contributed his time to the Chamber of Commerce Board for many years.
A man of strong faith, Pat was a devoted member of Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir for 30 years. Always willing to offer help or share a story, Pat never met a stranger. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his community, and the lasting impact he made on those around him.
Funeral services will be held at Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church on Thursday, March 26th, at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Quaker Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Kornegay Funeral Home in Camden on Wednesday, March 25th, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Julia C. Halford Music Fund at Lyttleton Street United Methodist Church, 1206A Lyttleton Street, Camden, SC 29020.
