BALLARD, SR., W. SPARTANBURG, SC - Wallace Ray Ballard, Sr., 60, of 118 Edison Circle, died Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. Born January 25, 1948, in Spartanburg, SC, he was the son of the late Walter R. and Nellie Mae Foster Ballard. He attended Spartanburg Junior College and was a salesman for G&E Parts Service for 40 years. He was a member of Cherokee Springs Baptist Church, a U.S. Marine Corp Veteran of the Vietnam War, and an avid golfer and former member of the LanYair Country Club. Survivors include his wife, Denise Keller Ballard; two sons, Wally R. Ballard of Spartanburg, and Patrick D. Ballard and Tammy Pike of Boiling Springs; a sister, Pat Dobbins and her husband Fred of Chesnee; and three brothers, Max Ballard, Sr. and his wife Frances of Spartanburg, Bernard Ballard and his wife Greta of Summerville, and Jerry Ballard and his wife Annette of Spartanburg. He was predeceased by a sister, Erleen Cannon; and two brothers, Jack and Bobby Ballard. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday, November 15, 2008, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 16, 2008, at Sunset Memorial Park conducted by the Rev. Dr. William H. Phillips.
