Virgil Stone Obituary

Virgil Stone MOSELLE, SC - Mr. Virgil Nathaniel Stone, Sr., 91, of Moselle, entered into eternal rest Friday, July 22, 2016 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 2 pm, Monday, July 25, 2016 at The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. Interment will follow in Carter's Ford Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Stone was born June 18, 1925 in Yemassee and was a son of the late William Stone and Tucker Murdaugh Stone. He was a retired caretaker of Lightsey Brothers Mill. He was a member of Moselle Church of God of Prophecy, where he had served as a Deacon and had been the Sunday School Superintendent for 27 years. Surviving are: his wife of 71 years, Lora Urell Cook Stone of Moselle; children, Virgil Nathaniel Stone, Jr. of Cottageville, Walter Ricky Stone of Cottageville, Mark Olin Stone of Alabama, Davey Joe Stone of Gaffney, Ruth Stevenson of Allendale, Lora Lee Hinton of Summerville, June Rose Garner of Cottageville, Wendy Ann Hutto of Moselle, and Desi Lou Stone of Moselle; brother, Russell Stone of Summerville; sister, Betty Fisher of Rock Hill, SC; 23 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Stone; and a sister, Susie Roumiltt. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 until 8 at THE BRICE W.
