Vera Mims Obituary

Vera Warder Mims Charleston - Vera Warder Mims, 75, of Charleston, but currently residing in Vance, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, December 14, 2022. Her memorial service will be held Sunday, December 18, 2022 in the J. Henry Stuhr, Inc. West Ashley Chapel at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends prior, beginning at 12:00 pm. Vera was born October 18, 1947 in Charleston, South Carolina, daughter of the late Joseph E. Warder and Georgia Wyndham Warder. Vera retired from The Citadel Military College as Director of The Gift Shop in 2009 after 33 years. She was an avid bowler, loved gardening and had a special bond with our Fur Babies. She is survived by her children, Patterson "Monty" Mims of Ravenel, Angie Mims-Lewis (Kelly) of Vance, and Ray Hudson of Smoaks; siblings, Joanne Krider (Dave) of Pennsylvania, Ernie Warder (Joni) of Summerville, Robert Warder (Andrea) of Charleston, and Tina Whitehead (Jimmy) of Inman; grandchildren, Patterson L. Mims, Jr., Elisha Hudson Corrigan, Katie Hudson, two great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Vera was preceded in death by her husband, Patterson G.
