Tammy Kay Ortman Pratt CHARLESTON - Tammy Kay Ortman Pratt, 48, of Charleston, SC, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2016. She was born on Saturday, May 25, 1968 in Winamac, IN, daughter of Rachelle Lain Ortman and John William Ortman. Tammy married the love of her life, her high school sweetheart, Scott Pratt, on June 16, 1990. Tammy was a care-taker of all things dear to her. She spent her time as an avid gardener, and had a dream of starting her own farm one day. Tammy had a special love for animals, especially her puppy, Harley. She enjoyed cooking and crafting; her favorite was DIY projects. She loved history and visiting museums, Victorian homes and historic gardens with her family. Tammy most enjoyed just spending time with her daughters. Her family will remember her as a soft, gentle, fiercely loyal woman of truth, with a kind and giving spirit. She is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Scott Pratt, of Charleston, SC; two daughters, Abigail Pratt of Charlotte, NC and Michaela Pratt of Charleston, SC; parents, Rachelle Lain Ortman and John W. Ortman of Winamac, IN; two brothers, John W. Ortman, Jr. of West Lafayette, IN and Jeff Ortman of Winamac, IN; and four nieces and four nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 27, 2016 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Awaken Church, 3870 Leeds Avenue, North Charleston, SC 29405. A Celebration of Life will be held at Awaken Church on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Chris Lanier, II, officiating. I'm so sorry for your loss.... Tammy (and Scott) were sunday school teachers of our youth group years ago at FBC in Winamac and were so instrumental in guiding us in the path of Christ... she was such a compassionate and kind woman... again so sorry for your loss.

Tammy was a sweetheart. She and her husband Scott sat by me at church on the Sunday before she died. She was such a gentle and kind person. I was blessed to have known her! I can't believe she is gone. I miss her already. RIP Tammy- gone 2 soon :(
