Susan Pinckney Obituary

Susan Ann Pinckney SUMMERVILLE - Susan Ann Pinckney, daughter of Mr. Isaiah and Mary Ellison Pinckney, was born August 17, 1952, in Charleston, South Carolina. Susan peacefully departed her life on Friday, July 5, 2024, at Roper Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina. Susan was baptized and saved at an early age and attended Graham AME Church. Later in life, she became a devoted member of Cathedral of Praise, where she participated in various community services. Susan attended Wallace Intermediate School followed by Prospect Heights High School of Brooklyn, NY. She received an associate degree from Trident Technical College, North Charleston, South Carolina. Susan's life and legacy will be honored in a ceremony that reflects her spirit and dedication to her faith and community. Her kindness, wisdom, and the love she shared will forever be remembered by all who knew her. As we reflect on her life, we can truly say that Susan was a great mother, sister and friend. She was also an awesome provider, loyal and a woman of many words. Raising teenage sons was a challenge but she did it with grace. Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Isaiah and Mary Ellison Pinckney; brother, Charles Pinckney; and her grandparents, Sadie E. Pinckney, Robert Ellison Sr. and Florence Ellison. Susan is survived by her loving and devoted sons, Keith L. Pinckney, Kregg L. Pinckney, and Ryan C. Pinckney; her sister, Lottie E. Pinckney; her brothers, Isaiah Pinckney (Sharon) and Randall Pinckney; her granddaughters, Kaitlyn E. Pinckney and Kennedy J. Pinckney. She also leaves to mourn her godchild, Mary Forrest; her uncles, Edgar Ellison and Joseph Ellison Sr.; as well as her aunt, Rebecca White; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Viewing will be held Thursday, July 11, at Hamilton's Funeral Home from 3-7 PM Service: Friday 11:00 AM at Cathedral of Praise, 3790 Ashley Phosphate Road, N. Charleston.
