Steven Mize "Kuhlke" SUMMERVILLE - Steven Millard Mize "Kuhlke", 66, of Summerville passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Wednesday, August 2, 2023. A Memorial Service will be announced at a later date. In honor of Steven, memorials can be made to the Dachshund Rescue South Florida, DRSF Post Office Box 267386 Weston, Florida 33326. Steven was born on March 28, 1957, in Covington, VA, to the late Leo "Buddy" Mize and Elsie Irene Smith. For the past 30 1/2 years he's been with his best friend and partner, Joe Kuhlke. They have spent the past 6 years being married and creating wonderful memories in their home with their fur babies. Steven has always had a special connection with all of his puppies during his lifetime. He had a love for learning about the colonial period and especially the Salem Mass with the witches and wica. Steven also loved celebrating Halloween and Christmas with his family and friends. He was special to so many people, and was known for having such a gentle and kind soul. Steven loved his family and friends more than words could describe, and will be missed deeply by so many. Steven is survived by his loving husband, Joe Kuhlke, of Summerville, SC; puppies, Oakley and Gloria, of Summerville, SC; brother, John Tingler of Hot Springs, VA; sister, Sandra Craft of Covington, VA; nephews, Todd, Mike, Matthew, Perry IV, Alex; nieces, Lorie, Jennifer, Anne, Casey, Dayna; brother-in-law, Robert H. Kuhlke Jr. (Marise) of Martinez, GA; sisters-in-law, Marie K. Ritch (Perry III) of Martinez, GA, Bobbie Kuhlke of Harlem, GA; along with many great-nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his father, Leo "Buddy" Mize; mother, Elsie Irene Smith; brother, Wayne Mize (baby); father-in-law, Robert H. Kuhlke Sr.; mother-in-law, Mary A. Kuhlke; and his loved puppies; Pepper, Missy, Baby, Prissy, Heidi, Sadie, Angel, Molly, and Eden.
