Steve Bivens RAVENEL, SC - Steve Julius Bivens, 68, of Ravenel, SC, entered eternal rest Saturday, July 6, 2024. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 11am to 12pm at Sauldam Baptist Church, 5945 County Line Road, Ravenel, SC 29470. The funeral service will begin at 12pm in the chapel. Burial will be private. Steve was born March 19, 1956 in Charleston, SC, the son of the late Alice Winn and Julius Melvin Bivens, Jr. Steve was an avid outdoorsman, land and timber conservationist. He loved spending time fishing at backwater. Steve knew and loved the forest of the Lowcountry. He loved searching for arrowheads and historical artifacts. The stories he would tell about the land he loved so much will be remembered and cherished for years to come. Steve's proudest accomplishment are his three children: Sarah, Patty, and Joey. He retired from Westvaco as a forester, after 25 years of service. He is survived by his children: Sarah B. Hathcock and her husband, Michael Hathcock, and their children, Emily and William of Summerville, SC; Patricia B. Sailer and her husband, Raoul Sailer, and their children, Morgan and Thomas of Summerville, SC; and Julius J.P. Bivens and his wife, Karen Bivens, and their children, Kennedy and Julius of Summerville, SC; his sisters: Linda Bivens-Derrick of Edisto Island, SC and Doris Ann Bivens of Gaston, SC; as well as his nieces and nephews: Theresa Gault, Shelly Mixson, Troy Bivens, and Kevin Brown.
