Stephen LaRocque Obituary

Stephen LaRocque SUMMERVILLE - First Lieutenant Stephen Adamore LaRocque USAF (Ret.), 66, of Summerville, SC, went to his heavenly home on February 4th, 2024. Son of Ronald LaRocque Sr. and Jean LaRocque, Stephen was born on February 13th, 1957, in Enfield, Connecticut. The father of three daughters, Stephen was a loving father who adored spending time with his girls. He was a member of St. Theresa the Little Flower Catholic Church and was a faithful Catholic. He was a strong believer of his faith, His Lord Jesus Christ and His Creator, God. He served his country for 24 years in the Air Force and Air Force Reserves. His service assignments included McGuire AFB in aircraft maintenance, Anderson AFB Guam as a crew chief earning the status of combat crew and Master Technician on the B-52D Stratofortress, Altus AFB completing his C-141A Flight Engineer training, second duty assignment at McQuire with the 6th AS "Bully Beef Express" assigned to PNAF (Prime Nuclear Airlift Force). His flying experiences were truly "game". Other assignments include the 701st AS, 437 OMS, 41st and 707th Military Airlift Squadron. As a Master Sergeant, Stephen was accepted and privileged to attend the Senior NCO Academy in Alabama. Being a reservist at the base, he continued his civilian job as a registered nurse. In 1996, he was accepted into the Flight Nurse Program with the 31st AES. After completing Officer Candidate School followed by Flight Nurse School, Stephen enjoyed continued flying on the C-141B and C-17 aircraft, meeting the obligations of air evacuation around the world. In 2017, he retired as a registered nurse with 22 years of service to the community. Stephen is survived by his wife, Robin LaRocque; their two daughters, Alexandra LaRocque and Casandre LaRocque; and his brothers, Guy LaRocque (Joanne), John LaRocque, Ronald LaRocque Jr., and Rick LaRocque (Lea). He is preceded in death by his daughter, Danielle LaRocque; and his parents, Ronald LaRocque Sr. and Jean LaRocque. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Theresa the Little Flower Catholic Church. The rite of Christian burial will be on Monday, February 12th, at 10:30 AM at St. Theresa the Little Flower Catholic Church, with the burial and military honors to follow at 2 PM at the Beaufort National Cemetery.
