Sara Cox Obituary

Sara McKenzie Cox CHARLOTTE, NC - Sara Louise Cox, 82, formerly of Summerville, SC, passed away Friday, January 22, 2016 in Charlotte, NC. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning, January 27, 2016 at 11 o'clock at Summerville Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Live Oak Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6-8 at Parks Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted. Sara was born January 17, 1934 in Woodstock, AL, a daughter of the late William Roy McKenzie and Nolie Ann Acker McKenzie. She was a homemaker. Sara is survived by three sons, James W. Cox, Jr., Mark W. Cox, and Johnny R. Cox; daughter, June C. Rust of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Darion, and Joan; seven grandchildren, Sara L. Fergueson, Geoffrey W. Cox, Erin M. Cox, Courtney R. Cox, Johnny R. Cox, Jr., Kara L. Shaw, and Eliza C. Rust; and seven great-grandchildren, Matthew Fergueson, Amber Fergueson, Ralphie Santiago, Christain Santiago, Alexander Pratts, Nolie Grace Shaw, and Adalyn Leigh Shaw. In addition to her parents, Sara is predeceased by her husband, James Waldon Cox.
