Ruth Senn Obituary

SENN, Ruth SAVANNAH, GA. - Mrs. Ruth I. Priester Long Senn, 79, of 8505 LaBerta Blvd., in Savannah, died Monday evening at her residence after an extended illness. Mrs. Senn was born in Crocketville (Hampton County) October 30, 1926, a daughter of the late William Henry Priester and Annie Lela Gooding Priester. She was a Homemaker, and had lived in Savannah for the past 42 years. Surviving are: her husband, Willie Marion Senn of Savannah; sons, George Leon Long and wife Emily, and Gregg Vahn Senn all of Savannah; daughters, Jennifer D. Gandy of Savannah; son-in-law, Hugh G. Mahany of Savannah; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Preister of Augusta, Elsie Priester of New York, Kathleen Jeffcoat of Swansea, Addie Williams of Hampton, and Mervelle Hutchinson of Dothan, Alabama; there are six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. Mrs. Senn was pre-deceased by a daughter, Dianne L. Mahany. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, in the Chapel of Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton, located at 300 Mulberry St., with burial in the Crocketville Cemetery. Friends may call at the Chapel in Hampton after 12 noon Saturday, January 14, 2006, until the hour of services. Ruth passed quickly, without pain, and serenely. I was so sorry to hear of Mema's passing. I am glad that she will be with Dianne and not suffer anymore. Please know that Rick, the kids and I are praying for all of you. May God help you through this difficult time.
